Olga the neanderthal Could hardly do a thing at all! She lazed around the cave all day And when the other kids went out to play She'd just say, "Harrumph!" "Come on, Olga!" said caveboy Steve, "We're making loincloths out of leaves!" But that would just make Olga peeved— She shouted out, "Harrumph!" Olga's mother went gathering berries But Olga, for her part, gathered nary Instead she just sat back and tarried Looking out and sighing, "Harrumph!" "Why not go hunting with your dad? "He needs your help!" "Well that's too bad!" Olga claimed she felt too sad. She busied herself with crying, "Harrumph!" All the other kids were playing— The moms bouqueting, The dads all flaying— Olga was left alone in an empty village When who should come around to pillage? A tiger stalking on the prowl! "Harrumph!" said Olga— And the tiger said, "Growl!" Olga suddenly got real brave She darted quickly from her cave. The tiger jumped, and Olga harrumphed— "That sure was a close shave..." Olga ran all the way to the river Her heart was pounding, her whole body quivered Now didn't she cut quite the figure! "Help!" she cried. "Harrumph!" "Why, is that Olga there I see?" "Yes! Yes! It's me!" "This is the first time I've seen you up in two weeks!" Olga rolled her eyes and said, "Harrumph!" "What happened? Why are you running?" "I thought I saw a tiger coming!" "You always said you were too exhausted to work or play, "But when you see a tiger you sure did OK." Olga shrugged; She didn't harrumph. "I guess it's because "I don't know myself as well as the tiger does."
